Ayushi Mathur
Ayushi Mathur, PhD Student, Amity University, Noida
Ayushi is pursuing her Ph.D. (Sociology) from Amity University, Noida. Her interest area is on experiential learning, with particular focus on social aspect of experiential learning. Prior to joining her Ph.D., she pursued her graduation from Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University and M.A. from the Azim Premji University Bangalore. She has also worked with various organizations focusing on experiential learning as a method of teaching and learning.
She defines experiential learning as a social phenomenon with interpretation based on shared definition and negotiation between individuals. She believes that by understanding what goes on when we have an experience i.e. how the individual and environment change – we are in a better position to select the kinds of learning experiences that enable growth. She feels that we cannot define an individual in abstract, thereby experience is not separate from the environment.
Ayushi is currently engaged in gathering data on young adults and the effect on experiential learning on their career.
